                Nehru Lake Cleaning Activity Conducting Eco-Needs Members on World Environment Day

Nehru Udyan Lake is situated in N-8 CIDCO area of Aurangabad city which is one of the oldest lake in this historical city but due to religious customs, the lake water was getting polluted by depositing lord ganesh statues and other domestic waste material. We from our Foundation understand this problem under the Aurangabad Jalsrot Bachao Abhiyan. On the ocasssion of World environmental day 2008 we voluntarily started the work for removing the debris and silt from the lake and later on Municipal Corporation Aurangabad joined us in this activity. Ultimately near about 4 acres area of lake was cleaned and lake was deepened and desilted also Foundation created awareness among the people regarding disposal of waste material into the lake. The success of this activity is people are aware about their mistake for polluting water and due to desilting of lake water storage capacity of lake is increased which ultimately beneficial for increasing the Ground Water level in CIDCO area and development and expanding of Nehru Udyan (garden)
